After fumbling and whacking myself in the head with regular sized driers, I've found the design and light weight of this drier to be excellent for my petite size. I've never had any discomfort holding it by the handle or the head, and I would not have a problem with the noise if my dorm walls were not paper-thin.

I love this dryer - I have long very curly hair and after I dry it no one would believe it. I use the brush attachment because my hair is also very thick. In the box there is an order form where you can send in for replacement parts (bruses combs etc.) I'll order 10 at a time! Thanks please never discontinue this model.

This is the most wonderful hairdryer I've ever used. I've bought many of these throughout the years and I hope you never discontinue this dryer. I have very wavy long hair. I wash it then put a serum on it after towel drying. I do my bangs first with the brush attachment on high heat.. this makes them smooth and straight, then section off different sections until dry with the brush attachment. I use big rollers after that and my hair comes out nice and smooth.. ending with a flat iron. Alot of people don't know about this kind of dryer, especially stylists. It is so easy to maneuver because you have everything all attached,unlike holding a dryer in one hand and a brush in the other, trying to straighten your hair. Thank you so much for making this product. Don't ever discontinue it.. Thanks, Sandy

I love, love, love this dryer. It does a great job on my hair - which is truly 'African' in nature. However, my daughter has that 'in between' hair and it effectively straightens her curly hair. We actually wore the comb attachment out! So, I need another one (or two, just to be safe).

The usefulnes of this dryer is limited because while the dryer itself is excellent quality, the comb attachments break or their teeth fall out. After that happens the best feature of the dryer, getting hair super straight and smooth, is no longer possible unless you buy a new one. Conair should makes replacement parts available.

I have been using this dryer for 6 years and im in love. I have wavy frizzy hair and after blow drying my hair with the thermal styling brush i have straight frizz free hair. People always comment about my hair and i always accredit it to the blow dryer. I always try to blow dry my friends hair just so i can show them how great this blow dryer is, and i dont have to do much convincing, the blow dryer does it for me. Thank you so much for this amazing product and i will never stop using it.

I use the Ion Shine hairdryer everyday before going out or going to work. I've used it for years and I don't know what I'll do if it were not available. I have thick african hair and this hair dryer can straighten it just enough that i don't really have to use a flat iron afterward.

I love this dryer! I will not use anything else. My hair is thick and curly. This dryer gets it straighter than the stylist can at the salon. I have been using this for years, and plan on continuing. It goes with me on vacation in the US and overseas. Eventually, after about 2 years of use, the combs break. I've been able to get inexpensive replacements through Conair very quickly. I am very satisfied with this dryer and recommend it anyone!

This is absolutely the best hair dryer ever made... yet it becomes harder to find each time I have to replace it. I have frizzy wavy hair and this hair dryer is the only one I have ever used that I can get my hair straight. Drying time is less than 10 minutes. Please don't ever stop making this hair dryer... I don't know what I would do without it. I've been using this same type of hair dryer since high school... way back in the 70s! It is the best ever!!!

I love this product . I Japanese straighten my long hair once a year and this dryer keeps my hair looking professionally styled . My only complaint is that after a while the brush attachment does not stay attached due to some heat related stretching.I am on my 3rd one and the same has happened for all. This is the first product that i find worthy of a review. I dont have the time or patience to section out my hair and dry it like the pros.
i part my hair down the the middle, from my forehead to my neck and and tie/clip off one side. With the other hair, i place a large round brush underneath and the dryer on top and dry from scalp to the ends. What takes my stylist 45 minutes, takes me 15-20 to do. When my friends see how curly my hair is naturally, they are surprised to hear that i dont use a flat iron. I don't need one after using this product!!! (which also keeps my hair healthier!)

Wonderful for pulling short, thick, curly hair straight. Great heat and force of air. Have used this style of dryer for many years and can't use any other style. Can't manage a dryer in one hand and straightening brush in the other. Cuts drying time in half and leaves hair frizz free! This dryer is difficult to find. I have purchased replacement brushes through the mail order form. Bought two dryers today for fear of not being able to find it quickly in the future when the motor burns out on me next time!

This product is worth the money. It has lasted me over two years and saves me on trips to the salon. I can get the same effect as my stylist does. I often receive compliments and get asked if I just went to the salon.

The only drawback is the replacement attachments need to be readily accessible online instead of having to speak to a customer service rep.

The first time I found that I could no longer find this dryer in stores anymore, I totally panicked! I NEED this hairdryer! NOTHING, and I mean NOTHIIINNNGGGGG does my hair like this one. It is impossible for me to dry my hair with those gun type hairdryers and use a hairbrush at the same time to style it. I am not coordinated enough! I like my hair straight and this is the only hairdryer that gives me those results. I have tried other brands, but this one is the very best - it has the best brush that goes through my thicker hair. I am ordering a new one today and so very thankful you still have them! PLEASE don't ever stop making this hairdryer!

I use to look for hair specific dryers (HOT AND GOLD OR SOLID GOLD) hair dryers because they were supposely the best for african-american hair. These dryer would burn out within a year. I once had to return one back to the company after having it for 3 months. Someone recommended I buy a Conair and I have been completely satisfied. The only problem is the fine tooth comb teeth broke and I need a replacement which I can't find online. With the other dryers, I could purchase replacements in the store.

I don't know why more people don't use this dryer. It achieves the same straight look that sylists get by using a brush and dryer. It's very difficult to hold a brush and drier behind your own head, this frees up a hand to help style your own hair.

Also, as a professional and mom of 2, I need my hair to look as good as it can in as little time as possible and this drier is great for that. If you remove the brush or comb, it's just like a regular drier, so it's the best of both worlds.

I've reccomended this to two friend and they are both very happy with their drier and say they'll never go back.

I used the comb attachment of my step-mom's over Christmas to dry my hair. My hair has NEVER gotten that straight from just blow-drying, EVER! Not even my stylist can do this. I have long curly blonde hair that tends to frizz. (Seriously, corkscrew curls)... I did dry it in sections, but that normally takes about an hour with a regular dryer, my arms are killing me, and I look like I belong in an 80's hair band. With this dryer it took 20 minutes, and I barely had to use my flat iron at all. I would DEFINITELY recommend this to a friend and am buying one today!

I love this hair dryer. I have thick relaxed hair and this is the one dryer I can use on high heat without it quitting on me. The only draw back is that the combs are hard to replace. I don't want to wait 4 weeks for new combs so I may buy another dryer. Why aren't the replacement combs available on the website?

I love this product it is great. I have medium length hair that is thick. It used to take 30-45 minutes on full heat to dry my hair. This dryer has my hair dry, shiny and soft in 15 minutes top. My hair has a natural curly texture but with this dryer I don't need to straigten it as often. I didn't even know how to use a flat iron until my comb broke.

I love this dryer. I believe it is not marketed correctly. It is marketed mainly for males. In some stores it is only in the male hair department or area. Or it is marketed as a compact travel dryer. That is fine with me and the people who buy this dryer because it is very inexpensive, because of target audience. But Conair is losing a heap of money. I believe it should target people with thick, long or short hard to dry hair. It is cinch to blow your hair straight with this dryer. Much easier then the conventional blow dryer. All my friends changed to this style of dryer once they see how I dry my hair. And most did not know such a dryer existed.
This is the complaint. The attachments is the main thing that makes it easier to use, but they are not readily available. Not only that if you have a older version the attachments available do not fit. I have had to buy brand new dryers because I can't find the attachments anymore. Other then that is a great dryer.

As a black woman with natural hair, I find it hard to find hair dryers that can get through my thick hair. I like this dryer as it's a classic AND gets hot, so you don't have to bathe your hair in heat for long. I agree with the other reviews! You should market as THE blow dryer for people with curly hair. There are alot of us out here. You would sell alot more if you took that marketing strategy. Please never stop making this model!

PLEASE DO NOT STOP MAKING THIS PRODUCT. IT'S THE BEST ON THE MARKET. IT BURNED OUT AFTER A FEW YRS OF USING IT AND COULDN'T FIND IT ON THE MARKET ANYMORE SO I HAD TO ORDER IT FROM HERE FROM THE WEB SITE. BUT PLEASE DISTRIBUTE IT FURTHER TO RETAILERS. I have been using this hair dryer for as long as I can remember. Please don't ever stop selling it! I have medium/long somewhat thin blonde hair and I get the greatest body from drying it with the brush attachment. I only wish you could sell the brush attachment seperately as it doesn't last as long as the dryer.

I have used this item since 1979. This is the only hairdryer that I can use. My hair is thick and natural curley. They are so hard to find. I only use the brush, never the combs. The brushes wear out and the motor doesn't last a long time because it gets really hot which is what I like. I really like the brush that has metal on it. It also helps to straighten my hair. Where can I get a new dryer and a brush with metal brush. Please don't stop makimg them, just improve on the brush.

I have used a blow dryer like this for 20+ years. Now my 4 teenage daughters use it to straighten their curly/frizzy hair. I wish Conair would realize what a wonderful product this is for curly hair and market it with a longer lasting brush attachment. The brush attachment is what pulls the hair straight as you blow dry. With a better quality brush, this product would be a curly haired persons best friend!
