Like my headline says this truly is the best flat iron ever! I have thick, long, curly hair and so far this is the only flat iron that will strighten my hair the way I like it. I have been using this flat iron for the past 6 years now and I refuse to swich brands. Even though I have dropped it like a billion times and its falling apart, it still works as good as it did when I bought it. Even my friends who use this flat iron tell me that this one worke better than their own $300 flat irons! The ony reason Im getting a new one is because I accidentaly broke it lol. Over all its a vary durable product that lasts ages and works wonderfully! Conair, please dont ever get rid of this product!

I use the product almost every day. I first wash my hair with shampoo and conditioner that is for thick,damaged hair. Then I completely dry it as soon as I get out of the shower. Then I will straighten it. I get the best results with that process. Then I use a silk syrum after straightening it to keep it soft and shinny. It works great everytime. I have tried several other straighteners and none work as well as this one. I have very, very thick hair that is very curly and this is the only one that makes my hair straight and silky.

I bought my starightener over 3 years ago. It has traveled with me from Wyoming to Oklahoma and all over the Bahamas. I never had any trouble until this weekend when it quit heating up. I figure that it hit the floor one too many times. I have extremely thick and curly hair. I used my straightener almost daily and always had consistently great results. I am planning to go buy another one of these straighteners ASAP. I have strightened my hair for over 12 years and this is the best straightener I've ever used. I have recommended it to my little sister, who also has curly, fizzy hair, and to all my friends who are looking to purchase a straightener.

This makes my hair frizzy and my hair gets caught in it. It also doesn't straighten very well. It gets the kinks out but doesn't get it perfectly straight. My hair is thick, so it may work better with thin hair.

I have long wavy thick hair with lost of frizz and i love having my hair staright and silky with no frizz and this product works wonders.... im not a fan of big flat irons but this one doesnt bother me one bit... the big size cuts my hair styling time down to half from 45mins down to 25mins.... i didnt have to use a bunch of products to bring down the frizz or poofiness just added some heat prtector and straightened and it was beautiful. i got alot of compliments... by the way i borrowed it from a friend that had hers for over a year and now im out to buy my own. and the best part is the nylon brush creates shine and silkiness nothing like the plastic brushes some irons have on them.

i have had this straightener for almost four years and it recently stopped working...however, it worked great up until a few months ago when it began to burn my hair. if you want the best straightener on the market, this aint it. but if ur looking for something good at an affordable price, i think this one takes the prize.

I got to try this iron at a friends house and i compared it to my flat iron at home and this one was a lot better, even for its price. i'm guessing its a common thing with the handle breaking cause that happend to mine the first time, but i bought another one. For me it lasted for 4 to 6 months. The cord always twists up and it's very annoying.
All in all for my tight curls to become straight, i do like this flat iron.

I use the product monthly.It was great when I first bought it but after a while it took longer to heat up and then the handle broke off because it dropped onto carpet.It didn't even last a year with me.It was my first straightner and it was great in the first 4 months but after that its started performing poorly.

I've bought this model like 6 times I think. It works like magic with my hair. I have very thick, wavy, uncontrolable hair but this straightener gets it straight in a matter of minutes and I get nothing but compliments on my hair. It has consistently broken around every 6 months however. In the middle of use one morning something just randomly snaps in the handle without warning and it can either no longer close or is locked shut. I use it every single day up to the breaking point tho, so I am very pleased with what it offers me while it works. I know I should invest in a more expensive one that may last longer but I just can't get over the results this gives me.

I really love this straightener. I've had mine for over years (the same one) and it recently died. I will be replacing it with the same one.

Yes the product damages your hair but thats only if you don't know how to take care of your hair. I have long curly hair (and used it when I had short curly hair too) and although it take a long time because of the length you shouldn't fry your hair off by having it on the highest setting. For heavy users I would suggest a hot oil treatment or a deep conditioner in addition to the Tresseme thermal protector spray.

I'm also going to use to a smaller sized straightener to get the roots as the larger size doesn't do a great job up there.

All in all I love this product!

It was a great straightner for the first couple months because it straightened my hair well and I have thick curly hair. I had it for for 7 months and then the handle broke. IT'S GOOD FOR A CHEAP ONCE-IN-A-WHILE HAIR STRAIGHTENER BUT NOT DURABLE.

This was my first Straightener and it does the trick. Unfortunately, I have weak, fine hair. This product is damaging to my hair. It does have a variety of heat levels and that is great. It also heats up pretty quick. For a first time buyer this was a great compromise on quality and affordability.

I purchased this product about a year ago, and I am so upset. When I used this straightener, it would get so hot, and burn my hair off! In fact, it got so hot that I burned my finger on my hair while straightening it. My side bangs now have a big patch that is burned off and sticks straight up! I wish I would have paid the extra money and saved my hair.

I have coarse, wavy hair - prone to frizz. This product is perfect for me because the comb helps guide my hair and keep it taut. Have tried other flat irons without the comb, but just have not gotten the results I get with this product. Never thought I could have smooth, shiny, STRAIGHT hair but this works like a charm

I've purchase Conair Flat Irons about 3 times in the past 6-7 years and I think it's he best one out there without spending too much money. I think the only reason mine needs replacement is because I'm not gentle with them at all. The last one I had lasted me 3 years and for the money I paid, it is truly worth it.

I bought this moths ago and its awsome. I have tried older Conair models but since I have curly curly hair I got ok results. I decided to try again and I was so shocked when I was finished and looked in the mirror at the girl with straight shiny smooth hair. I recently tried the new ceramic tourmaline model and it left my hair frizzy. I took this one and did the other side to compare and this one was so much better. Don't waste your money on more expensive ones. Going to return the other one I bought and get another one of these for the future..

My sister gave me this straightener (used by her) the summer before my freshman year, now its before my senior year and it suddenly stopped sustaining its heat this morning. I really don't see how everyone can break theirs in just a few months when mine has survived over three years with me and however long (maybe a year) that my sister had it. The only problem is that the goldish part in the plates has worn off, but that hasn't effected my hair at all.

I have fine hair so it is probably overkill for me- it takes all of 2 minutes to straighten it! The comb is strange- so I removed it.
It is very large and not ergonomic so it is akward to use. Overall pretty good! Makes my hair very soft!

My daughter and I both have hair that is thin-medium thickness with a slight wave and this straightener took forever to "somewhat" straighten one section of hair.Once "straightened",it did not last more than a few hours.The ends of our hair looked fuzzy/damaged.We each used it once.The heating plates are a good size,but the rest of the appliance is bulky and awkward to handle.Going to return it.

I purchased this straightener almost 2 years ago and I LOVE it! My hair is wavy and really really thick and very unmanagable. One of the things I hate most about all of the straighteners I've tried is how looooong it takes to straighten my hair and then it still looks frizzy. This straightener is easy to use and straightend my hair very quickly. It left it silky smooth and stayed straight all day. I don't really have any comlaints about this straightener. Just recently it stopped heating up but like I said I've had it for almost 2 years and used it EVERY day! I never had a problem with it being flimsy, I actually always found that it was very durable considering I dropped it a half a dozen times and it never broke. I will deff. be buying another one!

This iron definately straightens hair fast and well, although for someone with medium or thin hair, it's not recommended to use everyday. I assume like any other iron, it will ruin your hair. It worked fine for the first couple years I had it then slowly the Power button or Turbo Heat became hard to press or wouldn't stay illuminated for long, and eventually, it stopped functionning altogether. I don't know what happened, but don't be suprised if this iron only lasts a couple years or so, it's a shame.
It's a decent product that does the job, for the price, you won't find much better.
It's a little heavy and bulky but it grips and holds hair well, so you'll get used to it.

I have bought two straighteners that didn't work at all from Conair and I bought this one because my friend had it and it worked pretty good. I use it in the morning before school, and it takes forever.I have a lot of thick, curly hair so it becomes a chore. It kind of dries my hair out but it gets it straight. I too have had 3 of these irons now. The first two just stopped working. They'd turn on, but never heat up. The third one the handle broke and it won't close now. I bought a smaller conair one to try it, and it did nothing for my hair! I love this hair straightener. I thought that I had lost this one and bought the Wet/Dry by Conair due to the quality of this one. The wet/dry just wasn't up to par. I get excellent use out of this straightener. It is easy to use and very quick to use. I have very thick wavy hair and can straighen it all in about 10-15 mins. Heats up very fast and has even heat. It leaves an excellent silky shine to my hair. When this one gives out I WILL buy another just like it. Thanks Conair for the quality.

I had this straightener for about a year. It worked PERFECT when I had it, and I was so happy to be able to do something to my hair besides a ponytail (my hair is incredibly thick and it took 4ever for other straighteners to get it a little straight) The only thing, is that a month ago the handle locked up and made it impossible for me to use. I emailed conair to see if they'd replace it, but I never heard back. But I can't really complain, I got it for super cheap. It served me well for awhile.

This is a great way to quickly style hair, especially if I have let it get frizzy by air drying rather than blowing it dry. The wide plates are especially useful for long, thick hair. I just wish that it had a clip to keep it closed and a hook to hang it for easy storage.

I got this straightener a while ago, more than 6 months and it still works really well - not like brand new though. One thing that bothered me a lot was when the "jaw" wasn't long enough so my hair slips right into the part where the straightener opens and closes and it snaps my hair off or gets stuck. Secondly, it DOES NOT heat up in 60 SECONDS. Mine took about 5-10 minutes so I always had to preheat it while figure out what to wear when I go out. I guess things wear off when they get old, but I had this for a year now. My hair remains straight all day even with the wind (but that depends on the hair). I still don't get how people can break the handle...

I had it for about 9-10 months & then the handle cracked off & I could no longer use it, but it still heated up very hot till the day it broke. I have owned this straightner for over 2 years and it broke yesterday. It never stopped heating up for me. The handle just broke and I can't close it to get my hair straight. It heats up fast! I wouldn't expect this straightener to last longer. I think it was worth it for what I paid. Now I will start searching for a new one. I would like to try a new one from Conair. I believe that is the best brand for hair products!

I LOVED this straightener, it was a great cheaper alternative to paying over a hundred bucks for a salon straightener, it made my hair super straight and shiny, but it broke after ONLY 4months. It just quits heating up, it would get warm, but not hot. I loved it so much i bought another one. Same thing. At this point i have owned 4 of these straighteners because the continue to break so easily,the other 3 didnt even last 4months!!!! and it wasnt because i didnt take care of it. I am soo disappointed that it breaks so easily.
