This product was great! I loved how it wasn't to thick, that way i can get into my root without burning myself. The only thing about this is it has very few settings. You can't know how hot it is. Other than that, its perfect!

This product worked okay for me when I first bought it, but after 4 months it stopped heating up. Nothing happened, I just turned it on one day to use and it would not heat. Very poor quality for a flat iron that was not even used every day. Would not purchase this product again.

Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Conair Satin Finish trade Ultra Slim Straightener:

I've had this straightener for about 2 years now, and when I first got it, it worked fine. It heated up fast and straightened my thin, curly hair easily. After about 5 times over the course of 5 months, it started to heat up to a low temperature, or to a high temperature for only about 3 minutes. It is very un-reliable now, and takes a lot of time to straighten, where my hair should only take about 5 minutes. I hope this helps.

Comments about Conair Satin Finish trade Ultra Slim Straightener:

It was definitely not worth the time, or the money that i used with it. it looked like it might have worked well, but it only works in really small amounts. It also pulls your hair out with a tab that is on the side. I'm warning you, if you want this you have to have a lot of time and patience, and you need to have thin hair for it to actually work well.

I love this product. I just recently got it for my birthday since my old straightner was simply that, old. I gave this one a shot and I was impressed on how well it works on my hair. I have tried a few of the affordable hair straightners (20-40 dollars) and I was often not impressed because the never seemed to get rid of certain curls or bumps in my hair but I gave this one a shot since I had nothing to lose and I was impressed with how well it worked. I now have stick straight hair thats soft and silky but looks great and natural at the same time. I love this product

not buy this product, but if you're

should definitely do some research

you buy anything.

I have a professional hair straightner the plates are 2 inches. I wanted a straightner that was smaller for my bangs so I purchased the Conair. It heats up okay but how the straightner is made is extemely disappointing. I really think it will fall apart if I use it every day. I'm returning it tomorrow and I'm saving my money until I can afford a professional 3/4 straightner

Useless for Wavyish Hair
By Katt from Montreal on 6/24/2008
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Conair Satin Finish trade Ultra Slim Straightener:

I've had this straightener for a year now, I think, and I don't use it anymore. It works really well at the beginning, but now If I straighten my hair it takes, like, an hour (it's shoulder-length) and the second I step outside it gets all poofy and wavy. It'll frustrate you like crazy. The only person I'd suggest this to is someone with straight hair & a few kinks to straighten.

Comments about Conair Satin Finish trade Ultra Slim Straightener:

Ok so...this straightener damages my hair so much that almost every single strand of my hair has more than just one split end on it...yes i know i need to use a hair care product. It takes really long to finally get my hair straight. One hour later or less, the ends of my hair goes back wavy...a disappointment =( but....if i straighten my hair in little sections for about half an hour, it stays longer and straighter, but it's not as straight as i want it to be...im never buying this again. it was a waste of money.

I have thick wavy hair. I bought this straightner about 3 years ago and it still works perfectly. I have decided to buy a 2 inch conair however, because it takes about 15-20 minutes to straighten my thick hair. This straightener works better for those with medium to thin hair. Don't hesitate to purchase this product!

I use the product almost every day, however, I think it was a bad day at the plant, as the iron part doesn't quite line up, so it is a bit tricky to use, I would of course return it, but the reciept is long gone. It seems to do the job, just frustrating that it is a little buggered up.

Despite what some people are saying I actually like this product.
Its makes my hair nice, shiny, soft, and easy to comb.
i have curly/wavy hair when i wash it but when i use this flat iron it makes it much better.
I dont recommend using it daily because it damanged my hair but thats what heat does.
so i use this once a week only when i wash my hair so my hair is healthier now plus i use low settings, no more than 5.
i used this product and when to the beach for 3 hours by the time i left my hair was a disater i guess the humidity got to my hair. So it only works well for a little bit.

I bought this iron 3 days ago and will be replacing it tomorrow. It takes me twice as long to straighten my hair with this one and it doesn't heat up very much, even on turbo heat. I don't like the plastic it's made of - very cheap. This may be okay for thin hair, but for anything other than that, it's an awful iron. Don't waste your money.

I used this product every other day, and it seemed great. But it did not make my hair perfectly straight and my hair is frazzled, it also rusts after too many uses. Bottom Line:

Comments about Conair Satin Finish trade Ultra Slim Straightener:

It has enough heat for me, i have thick hair and it has a slight wave. The cord is pretty short if your outlet is by the floor, and if you want to use this flat iron to curl your hair (which does work) it doesnt have a swivel cord so it tangles. Also, the gap where the parts separate always pinches your hair and gets it stuck in the cracks. SO ANNOYING!

Overall its not worth it. For the money you spent you can get something SO much better.

My hair is thick and curly-even unruly at times-but this straightener works great on it. My daughters have thin, medium, and thick hair with varying degrees of curl. I've used this successfully on all three heads of hair and love the way it makes our hair straight, smooth, and shiny. I section the hair off as the directions said and don't have any problem with it not having enough heat. I do have a problem keeping the power on. It will only stay on about 2 miutes then I have to unplug it and wait for it to cool down some before it will come back on. I've only had it about 2 months so it shouldn't wear out this quickly. If it would stay on, I'd give it five stars.

i use this straightener almost everyday. I think it's a good beginnger straightener. it doesnt get as hot as most, but it works for my hair because mine is thin, and wavy. It probably wouldn't work for curly hair that well. Its very small, light, easy to use, and works pretty well. it is kinda flimsy, and would probably break soon. plus it also looks kindof ugly. it looks like a bumblebee.

This iron is just too small and not hot enough to straighten all my entire hair. No one with thick or curly hair could use this properly. I only recommend it for short bangs, thin hair and very light frizz.
The iron feels cheap, it's too light and hair often gets caught in the plates. Very annoying. Get this one for your bangs and something bigger or more powerful for the rest of your head.

It's pretty decent, but I have straight hair to begin with (it flips at the end though). That being said, I also have fairly thick/coarse hair and though it styles easily I find that even on the hottest setting this iron just isn't hot enough. It takes way too long to straighten, but I find it works well as a curler. I've had it for about 3 years, and it's starting to kick the bucket. All in all, it's not terrible, but I don't think I would buy this again for myself (I have a friend who owns this iron, and it works wonderful for her though! She has much thinner/straight hair than I, so that might be why).

I have very "fine" hair, meaning that each individual string of hair is thinner that usual hair. So basically, I have alot of hair because it's thinner. Well, this straightener doesn't work on thick hair, even when I put it up in sections. This hair straightener does NOT WORK.It takes me FOREVER to straightener my hair, and IT STILL WONT BE STRAIGHT.I have side bangs, and this straightener flips them out! So it makes me look like I'm from the 70's.I loaned it to my friend, who has a normal amount of hair, and it works fine.I borrowed the same friend's hair straightener, and it worked SO WELL! But hers was a [$] one.So basically, you want a straightener that will work on every type of hair. I do NOT RECOMMEND THIS STRAIGHTENER AT ALL.Go and look for a better one.

I used the product every morning befroe i go to school. My hair is naturally straight when i blow dry it the night before. I still like ot straighten my hair though because it gets rid of the frizz and gets rid of any slightly way parts. This hair straightener is great because it is soo small. my last hair straightener was 2". The plates on this flat iron dont touch unless you put them together with some power. Comments about Conair Satin Finish trade Ultra Slim Straightener:

I have thick bushy, unruly, wavy hair. I would not buy this again. It worked well for me but I also added silicon gels, that improved the performance of this straightener. It did not last long; about 3 years for me. I need to buy a new one and I will go for the more expensive one.

Comments about Conair Satin Finish trade Ultra Slim Straightener:

This product does not work as well as I had hoped. It takes way too long to use, especially since I have very thick, curly hair. I rarely straighten my hair because I don't want to take the three hours to sit and do it. When I do do it, the straightness only lasts for an hour or two and I have to do it again. Although it was relatively cheap, it still wasn't worth it.

Very light and small and easy to use. Thin, so gets closer to the roots.
