The actual iron worked very well on my normal, straight, thick hair. My only complaint is the three finger heat proof glove provided is a joke. My hands and fingers are normal size, but the glove kept slipping and became extremely annoying. Plus, it leaves the back of your hand wide open to still have contact with the hot barrel. Find a full hand glove and all will be well.
