I use this machine for my son whenever we are away from home/traveling and he will be napping/sleeping. Bottom line: excellent product!

I love that you can use the AC adapter or batteries (not many out there have that option). The speakers are very powerful, although we don't use it very loudly. I use only the white noise. I want to know who out there actually uses the tropical rainforst setting!?! That would give me nightmares! I digress. Unlike the other Conair model (sound therapy with night light), you can leave it on as long as you want (a.k.a. auto-shut off is an option but is not mandatory). I liked the Sound Therapy with Night Light, but returned it because it will not stay on longer than one hour. One improvement would be that it could be smaller. I don't understand how a few sound chips and a speaker have to be that big. I'm sure the smaller it gets the more expensive it would be, though. It is impossible to find anywhere in a local store. I recommend it to friends, but wish I could direct them to a store. Great product. I have been using it for a year and a half on a mostly daily basis. I highly recommend it.

A friend of mine gave this to me at my baby shower saying that this is the "best baby gift ever." She was SO right. I use the white noise function (sounds like static on a radio) because that's what The Happiest Baby on the Block recommended. My daughter has slept through the night since she was a young infant. She's 2 1/2 now, and we still use it for naps and bedtime. It's a great "cue" for her to go to sleep. I'm online now looking for one for my newborn son's room!

My only suggestion is that this would be even better if it also had a clock function on it (for older children).

Overall, I LOVE this product and recommend it to friends.

I have used and searched other brands for a replacement for my current sound machine which is this one. I have had this one for nearly 4 years. Used it at first for overnight company and now for baby. This machine has had daily use for over a year. The sounds are simple and soothing. Volume control is hand controlled which way better than a digital button that limits the volume options. Since it takes batteries as well as plugs into the wall, it can be moved simultaneously with the sleeping child for which it is intended. I love that it plays all night long or I can use a timer. It is lightweight so packing for travel is a must. I tried others and none of them meet this product. I'm so happy to have found another. I am buying it now.

For anyone in the design department: if you could make it a little smaller, this product would move from an 8.5 to a 9. If it had a rechargeable battery, it would move from a 9 to a 10.

I got this when my son was born- it has the heartbeat sound which not many of these machines have. My son has slept every night all night since he was a couple months old. Now he is almost 3 and he asks me turn it on at night and at nap. We take it on trips too. I have told friends about it and they love it for their kids. My mom even has one for her dogs! This machine is a great buy, great quality and a great nights sleep!

I bought this sound machine to use in my daughter's bedroom. I used it every night and when she napped. I loved it because it was inexpensive and light weight for traveling. However, after one month of use, my sound machine just quit working. I have tried everything and I cannot get it to work. I am so sad, I really enjoyed using it. Hopefully I can get a new one that works!

the model I own is SU2RC & I have had it for at least 7 years. It has literally played non-stop for months at a time..(specifically the thunder storm) I never use the auto stop because I often wake up in the night, and it still has phenomenal sound. I have purchased it for friends in the past, but have been unable to find it locally recently. I am about to purchase the newer model online & I hope it is as good as the one I own.--

Very soothing for extremely premature as well as older infants in our Neonatal ICU. Good volume control. Easy to use. Wish it could combine sounds (waterfall and stream) like another brand of sound machine could.
